NG Eats: La Parrilla, Play Del Carmen, Mexico.
Mike and I are no strangers to good food. If you're a regular reader of this blog you know that we are eaters. This was no exception while we were in Mexico. Our resort was all inclusive but it was what you can expect from a buffet. Good but not mind blowing. We asked some of the locals what was the best thing to eat and we got a resounding answer, La Parrilla.
Now in the states, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants is La Parrilla. I was a little concerned that this was going to just be a mirror image of the restaurants here. I was so wrong. It was by far the best thing we ate while in Mexico. The salsa was so fresh, the margaritas were perfect, and the meat was so tender and juicy! I had the carne asada tacos and Mike had a taco sampler plate which included the best pork I've ever tasted in a taco. It also made for a great shelter. At one point the sky opened and it came down hard. People watching got elevated to a whole other level as people scrambled to find a dry space to dodge the storm. La Parrilla definitely made the rainy day a winner!
