NG Eats: Stampede66, Dallas, TX.

Last week in Dallas was pretty action packed and there are lots of posts to prove it. On this evening, we went to a new to us restaurant, Stampede66. Upon walking in, it truly looked like the place to be. The decor was very modern and every seat seemed to be filled with Dallas Socialites. Ok, maybe they weren't official socialites but that's how snazzy people were. This was not your show up in sweats restaurant.

The lovely lady above is Kristen and this dinner was mainly in celebration of her birthday. I always enjoy going out with other couples and this was no exception! On to the topic of dinner. The food was good but I don't think I'll be running back. The entree's were pretty close to perfect. Mike had the chicken fried steak and I had the meatloaf which was bacon-wrapped and delicious. My main hang up, the $18 margarita. Yes... we got an $18 drink. They sucker you into it pretty well. Don't get me wrong, when it comes to presentation, they had me amazed (that's the dry ice used to make it you see above). But as far as the drink went taste-wise... It was like drinking a plain margarita after all the ice had melted. So while the food was good, it doesn't get my "run and try it now" stamp.
